We have recently returned from a very successful buying trip at Salone Internazionale del Mobile (The Milan Furniture Fair). At this show we were looking for showroom stock for the upcoming Autumn/Winter season and we certainly had plenty to choose from.
Italy is renowned for its beautiful and stylish furniture, so it’s little wonder that Milan hosts one of the best furniture showcases in the world. It is by far one of the biggest furniture shows in Europe, attracting all major European manufacturers and designers. The 57th edition of this show saw 434,509 attendees from 188 different countries over the 6 days.
Here at John Dick & Son Italian manufacturers pride themselves on the fact that they still design and manufacture their products in Italy. This keeps the furniture quality high and allows them the expertise to make one off specials where required. We selected new collections from Cattelan Italia, Alf, Eicholtz & Porada to name just a few.
What’s in for Autumn/Winter 2018?
This year we will see a lot of natural finishes such as leather, wood, marble, ceramic, copper and brass. We will also see lots of pink and greens in the season’s colour palette. There is an ongoing shift to ceramic top dining tables which are both practical and offer an infinite choice of finishes from marble to industrial metallic effects.
We hope our selection of pictures gives you an idea of what’s in store for the Autumn/Winter furniture trends.
