Over the past 10 years we’ve got used to the introduction of new words and terminology. The emergence of social media has provided us with weird and wonderful words like ‘podcasting’, ‘tweeting’ and ‘retweeting’. Some, like ‘selfie’, have even been added to the Oxford English dictionary.
But, it would appear it’s not only the marketers and technology boffins that are getting in on the act; estate agents are also changing the terms we use. We’ve no sooner got used to the word ‘downsizing’ when we’re told it doesn’t apply any longer; apparently we don’t downsize any longer – we now rightsize!
In reality, it is probably a better ‘catchall’ word because it can apply to those upsizing or downsizing, so we’re going to give it our seal of approval.
Rightsizing is a topic we’ve covered in previous blogs; we recently explored how to make better use of the spare rooms you have in your home. And, some time back we demonstrated what can be achieved if you want to extend your home when we featured a rather beautiful extension to a client’s home in Strathaven.
We thought we would share a simple tip with those who are rightsizing (down the way) and find themselves living in m a much smaller space that they have been used to. Mirrors can help to create the feeling of more space. A couple of well placed feature mirrors will not only create the illusion of more space, they will also help spread more light which also helps make the room feel more spacious.
We have a fantastic range of mirrors in the showroom, so it’s worth popping in to see if we’ve got something that’s the right size for you. You can also make good use of it to look at your own selfie!
