We already have one buying trip under our belt this season and lots of lovely new furniture on the way.
One trend we noticed at last week’s furniture show was a move away from neutrals and simple, minimalist design towards more use of colour and pattern. Many of the sofas we saw at the recent furniture show have strong identities and beautiful detailing that make them distinctive and unique.
One strong look we saw is heavily inspired by vintage patterns and prints. We especially loved the luxurious feeling of the printed velvets used on this sofa and the attention to detail such as the fringed cushions. The mixture of Paisley & botanical prints feel inspired by Morris and Liberty designs and this look would work perfectly with the trend for brass and warmer metal accents that we have seen recently.
There was also a retro look throughout the show and we liked the quirkiness of some of these pieces. They would certainly add some personality to an interior!
Colour was prevalent throughout the show and the warm spicy tones we saw a lot of would be perfect to introduce to a neutral interior and increase the cosy factor for winter. Now we’re looking forward to welcoming all our new purchases into the showroom; in the meantime we’ll have some ex-display bargains available as we make space for it all!
