Once again the holiday season is upon us, and as the schools, colleges and universities close for the summer, our minds are focussed on a well earned rest and some quality time with our families.

Many of you will be heading to foreign parts to relax and enjoy the sunshine, so we thought we’d get you into the holiday spirit by highlighting the range of countries where John Dick & Son source furniture, some of which may well be holiday destinations for our customers.

SCOTLAND

So let’s start at home, many of you will be enjoying time with your family and friends right here in Scotland, you may even be visiting the Hebridean Islands, home of Harris Tweed. This year we have enjoyed considerable success with our exciting range of Harris Tweed furniture. Rustic and traditional in appearance, it fits with many styles and it’s durability is not to be ignored – timeless elegance.

FRANCE

A holiday destination favoured by many Scots, and it would appear they also create furniture liked by many of our customers. This year we have introduced a range of tables and cabinets that have been extremely well received in the showroom.

Typically French styling and beautifully manufactured, these pieces would grace most interiors whether traditional or contemporary.

ENGLAND

Always a popular destination, whether to visit friends, or to take a short break. One of our favourite trips of the year is to visit John Sankey, probably the finest sofa and chair manufacturer in the country.

Once again, the John Sankey studio is one of the most popular areas in our showroom. In all the years we’ve been stocking John Sankey we have never seen two identical sofas; this year’s range is no exception, they continue to innovate and produce some of the finest furniture we’ve ever seen.

The stock in our John Sankey studio changes all the time, so it’s worth popping in, even if you’re just passing, to see what’s new – we are sure you will be inspired.

ITALY

If you’re lucky enough to be off to Italy for a break, you’ll be looking forward to fine wines, good food, and a certain degree of style and panache.

Similarly, we have an Italian range of tables, cabinets and storage units that offer that unmistakable Italian styling. Highly polished and beautifully manufactured, they exude luxury and quality in abundance. It’s well worth the trip to the showroom if only to see how the Italian designers manage to integrate design and functionality into something as simple as a TV cabinet!

SPAIN

Perhaps the most favoured destination of them all; we know that many of our clients regularly visit Spain and many even have holiday homes on the south coast.

Little wonder then that our Fama range from Spain has been one of the most popular ranges over the past 12 months. So much so, we have created a special Fama Showroom so that you can compare the many pieces on offer from one of Spain’s premier manufacturers.

Fama really has redefined functionality in furniture. Truly designed for living, the thought applied to these designs is astounding, and successfully accomplished without compromising on comfort or appearance.

We fully appreciate that you may be heading off to enjoy your summer break, but don’t worry we’ll still be here when you get back. John Dick & son is celebrating 60 years in business this year and it’s comforting that the quality and design of the furniture we stock just gets better and better.
