When Portuguese furniture designers and manufacturers, ALEAL, invited Bruce to visit their showroom and factory he was delighted to take them up on the offer.
Since introducing their beautiful product in our showroom we have done very well with the range and it has proven very popular with our customers. It is therefore always interesting to get an insight into the business and indeed the design and production process from start to finish.
ALEAL began life as a successful chair factory in 1975 and has developed over the years into an internationally renowned brand of luxury home furnishings. The factory has evolved with the times but still puts a massive emphasis on strong family values, and customer satisfaction. Now in their fourth decade and second generation, they are truly thriving.
The extensive ALEAL furniture range includes everything you need right through from beautiful dining furniture, occasional lounge pieces and bedrooms to finishing touches like mirrors.
The furniture is produced in Porto, North Portugal with the highest quality woods, metals, glass, lacquers, leathers and fabrics which are combined to produce the superb furnishings that encompass ALEAL’s unique style.
However, if you cannot find exactly the right piece in exactly the right finish or size then the beauty of ALEAL is that they will make bespoke pieces and sizes on request. This is a great benefit of manufacturing in-house and having designers on hand.
Not only do ALEAL make some incredible pieces of furniture they also collaborate with a number of well-known European designers to design a number of different collections. These designers include Roberto Serio, Ute Bröker and the Escribano Studio.
John Dick and Son have been working with ALEAL for some time now but when Bruce was there he couldn’t resist the purchase of a number of beautiful pieces of furniture that you can now see for yourself in our showroom.
